Life Story for
Barbara Phillips of Maspeth, NY passed away on Wednesday the 15th of March at the age of 73 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in 1944 in New York City to Fabian and Mimi Weiss, Barbara graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1962. Following graduation, she held positions at Kuhn Loeb, Metro Elliot Auto Shop and Ovation Advantage. She spent most of her career at Ovation Advantage, working there for 32 years!
Barbara had a joy for life! She loved spending time with her family - either shopping, dining out, enjoying wine....or all three at the same time! She also loved Paris, Charlie Parker music and Audrey Hepburn movies. She had an incredible sense of humor and could bring life to any room.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving brother Frank Weiss.
She is survived by her daughters Stacey Sergio and Nicole Neil, son-in-law Chris Neil and granddaughters Sabrina Sergio, Olivia Sergio, Maya Neil and Ava Neil. Her granddaughters brought great joy to her later years and they will always have wonderful memories of their Omi.
Services will be held on Sunday, March 26th at Leo Kearns Funeral Home in Rego Park. Visitation is from 1-5 pm. Donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.
